What gets a piece onto a shelf here, what gets it taken off, and what we will not say about anything we sell.
Everything on bride-squad.net is written by us and edited by us. This page says what the rules are, so that a reader can hold the site to them.
What gets a piece onto a shelf
Three things. A photograph that shows what actually arrives in the parcel rather than a styled scene. A pack count that makes sense next to the price, because the price on every card here is the price of the whole pack. And a size, a capacity or a material printed somewhere other than the marketing line. A surprising amount of party kit fails the third one, and it does not go on a shelf.
What takes a piece off
A piece that stops being available comes off the site at the next build. A piece whose photographs turn out to show a different product, or whose reviews turn out to belong to something else it used to be, comes off and stays off. Where the same object turns up twice, only one of the two stands on the shelf.
What we will not say
We do not make any of this, we do not hold it in a room, and we do not ship it. So we do not describe a factory, a warehouse, a team of testers or a laboratory, and we do not print a certificate, an award or a customer count. The one checkable fact we state about ourselves is the year we started, and it is on the about page.
We do not run tests. Nothing here rests on a test result of ours, because there is not one. Where a page says a latex balloon is a choking risk for a child under eight, that is the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission; where it says a temporary tattoo is regulated as a cosmetic, that is the U.S. Food and Drug Administration; where it says nickel is the metal that brings a rash out on a party earring, that is the American Academy of Dermatology. Each of those pages names the body in the line itself and lists the reading on the methods page.
We do not write reviews in other people's names, and there are no invented quotes anywhere on this site. Where a number appears in the prose it is counted from the catalogue at build time or read from a named source.
Where the figures come from
Prices, pack counts and colours come from our own catalogue and are updated on a schedule. Anything about safety, materials or a federal rule is read from the body that published it, and the page that carries such a statement says which body and links to the methods page where the reading is listed.
Corrections
Something wrong on a page gets fixed rather than argued about. Write to toast@bride-squad.net and say which page.
